The Canadian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons encourages the highest professional and educational standards among surgeons in order to provide the best possible care for all individuals affected by colorectal disease. The diverse membership includes academic colon rectal surgeons as well as community surgeons who specialize in colon and rectal surgery and practice in urban and rural locations.
Our mission is to promote optimal management of colorectal diseases through education and research.

The Canadian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons Research Operating Grant has been awarded annually since 2008 and seeks to foster and support research in Canada within the broad spectrum of colorectal surgery.
Congratulations to Dr. Richard Garfinkle
Special Congratulations go out to the Special Anniversary 2018 CSCRS Research Award Winner Dr. Richard Garfinkle for the protocol entitled: “Patient Activation for Low Anterior Resection Syndrome: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial”. Dr. Garfinkle has won the one-time CSCRS 35th anniversary grant worth $35,000. The CSCRS Executive wishes to acknowledge Dr. Garfinkle for this outstanding achievement in colorectal surgery research.
